Clinical Services
Radiology
The Radiology Department at San Antonio Community Hospital is organized into three major components: Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Oncology. Click on Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Oncology to learn more about these services.
Certifications and Accreditations
All of our Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance (MR) technologists are registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Our mammography service is accredited by the American College of Radiology and certified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) through the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) program.
Scope of Services
Diagnostic radiology services are tests that help your physician diagnose your condition. The following services are offered:
  • General radiography and fluoroscopy
  • DXA scan - bone density (osteoporosis screening)
  • Mammography and Stereotactic breast biopsy
  • Diagnostic ultrasonography, including "real time" linear scanning
  • Portable capabilities including fluoroscopy in surgery
  • Angiography
  • Head and body CT scanning
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and open MRI
Filmless Technology
All imaging facilities have a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), which uses digital imaging technology rather than x-ray film, to record radiology images. Physicians can view the digital images and accompanying reports using the latest Internet technology. The Hospital's secure server, firewall protection, and physician access protocol ensure the confidentiality of individual patient information.

The images can be stored on a CD, and securely archived as long-term patient records. This system provides significant savings in time and money due to the elimination of x-ray film, and the costs associated with film processing, administration, and storage. This user-friendly system allows for quicker reporting, viewing at multiple locations, and instant access to previous studies.
Scheduling
If your doctor’s order indicates that your exam needs to be scheduled, scheduling for all locations can be done at 909.920.4726, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Radiology exams cannot be done without a doctor’s order.
